Office x64 support

Oct 8, 2012 at 8:45 AM

After trying to install the msi package I came to realize that the add-in won't install on a 64-bit version of MS Word. Actually, the codeplex download page notes 32-bit version is supported but it does not say ONLY 32-bit version is supported. So I suppose it was worth giving a shot.

The installer says "Requires Word 2007 SP1 or later, or Word 2010" when trying to install on x64 Win7 with Office 2010 x64 installed. I guess it does not evaluate Word x64 as a suitable word edition.

Anyways, is this intentional? Will MS Word x64 be supported?

In the meantime, I suggest you replace the error message above to emphasize "32-bit support ONLY".

You are right, it is 32-bit Word only at the moment. We are working to get 64-bit support, but we are not there yet.

Would definitely like to see the x64 support as well.

64-bit is being worked on, hopefully there will be some news soon.

Any ETA on this?

Or is the source code going to be release?

As soon as you would have a tentative timeline for the x64 support, please keep us informed. It would be of great help...

We have just completed final UAT testing and are waiting on the "thumbs up" from our product owner.
